Shuttle makes it possible: Invision Games introduces Star Wars: The New Era for its premiere event on the biggest Science Fiction convention in Europe. From April 18th to April 20th, we will not only be showing trailers and handing out flyers - you will also be able to play TNE for the first time: On a brand-new complete Shuttle XPC system. Shuttle kindly supports our event with 14 of these unique gaming systems. As Yoda would say: "Size Matters Not..." The Shuttle XPC is a very small and portable system packed with gaming power you would expect from a full desktop-size computer. Since Star Wars: The New Era takes advantage of the advanced graphics of the Source Engine, these high powered systems will allow you to have an authentic gaming experience with TNE. During the event, you will have the unique opportunity to play TNE for the first time in LAN, in matches of 6vs6 players. In this first episodic release, the gametypes "Team Deathmatch" and "Capture the Flag" will be available. In addition to the opportunity to play the mod, a couple of developers from Invision Games will be around to answer your questions and to introduce you into the game. As a special we will be holding a contest and giving away prizes: - TNE posters autographed by the developers
- Become a TNE character: The winner will be introduced as a playable character in Star Wars: The New Era
Apart from the TNE premiere, the FedCon 17 will also be interesting to you if you are a science fiction fan. 18 guest stars from Star Trek, Stargate, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Battlestar Galactica and Babylon 5 will host panels in front of the expected 5.000 visitors and will also sign autographs and will be available for photo sessions with the fans. Among these guest stars are:
- LeVar Burton - Geordi LaForge (Star Trek: TNG)
- Brent Spiner - Data (Star Trek: TNG)
- John de Lancie - Q (Star Trek)
- Michael Shanks - Daniel Jackson (Stargate: SG-1)
- Steve Bacic - Telemachus Rhade (Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda)
- Jamie Bamber - Lee 'Apollo' Adama (Battlestar Galactica)
- Mary McDonnell (Independence Day)
- Bruce Boxleitner - President Sheridan (Babylon 5)
In addition the the guest stars, the fans are a major attraction of this event as well. Workshops, costume contests and merchandising booths are also part of the FedCon. One of the largest fan groups to attend the FedCon is the popular 501st legion, the biggest Star Wars costume group. We hope to see as many of you as possible during this event. For your ease, here is all the data you need to plan your stay: FedCon 17
